Extracting Wi-Fi credentials, contact info, or text from QR codes
QR codes encode text, URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, and other data in a scannable square barcode. This tool decodes QR codes using your device camera or from an uploaded image, entirely in your browser with no server processing.
Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot or photo?
Yes. Upload any image containing a QR code using drag-and-drop or the Upload Image button. The tool decodes the QR code directly from the image.
Does the camera scanner work on desktop?
Yes, as long as your computer has a webcam and you grant camera permission in your browser. The camera opens in a fullscreen viewfinder for easy aiming. On mobile devices, the rear camera is used by default.
What types of QR codes can this decode?
Any standard QR code - URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, vCards, email addresses, phone numbers, and more. The decoded content is shown as-is.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. All scanning and decoding happens entirely in your browser. Your camera feed and uploaded images never leave your device.
What if the scanner can't detect my QR code?
Make sure the QR code is clearly visible, well-lit, and not blurry. For uploaded images, try a higher-resolution version. Damaged or partially obscured codes may not decode successfully.
